This coming Sunday (April 17th), the National Leprechaun Hunt takes place. We’re excited!

So just to clear up all those questions for everyone taking part and for those interested in taking part in this fantastic day!

What happens at The National Leprechaun hunt?

The aim is to raise money while you hunt for leprechauns on the mountain, you’ll need a hunting license which costs €6 to take part. The leprechauns found are yours to keep and you can win prizes with each one, we are also attempting a world record attempt for “the largest gathering of people dressed as leprechauns” the current record is 1290 and we hope to smash that record!!


How do I take part?
You can register on the day or you can register online at
If you wish to take part in our world record attempt, then you can purchase the costume basics online or on the day, all record attempt packs come with hunting licenses, they are €15pp or €45 for 4 people. All online purchases are to be collected on the day at the registration tent. At a very minimum you must wear black/green/red trousers (all types acceptable)

What charities are you supporting?
All proceeds are being provided to children focused charities. Maria Gorretti foundation which provides respite and care for children. The Louth County Malawi fund, Malawi is one of the poorest places on earth. The charity provides vital education, healthcare and support services to children and families that otherwise would go ignored.
